One month, one training !

Adapt first aid practices to the COVID-19 pandemic

Many National Societies (NS) have had to limit or even stop part of their First Aid (FA) activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the end of containment measures, these activities gradually resume.

However, this resumption of training activities must be conditional on the implementation of health measures protection for learners and trainers. In fact trainings need to be adapted in order to ensure people's safety and maintain the quality of the teaching.

We are offering this month, in collaboration with the Global First Aid Reference Center (GFARC), an e-mini learning including resources to assist you in the resumption and adaptation of your first aid activities and in anticipation of the World First Aid Day (WFAD), September 12, 2020.

ABOUT THIS TRAINING

Audience : Confirmed
Duration : 1h

  • Know the main recommendations to prepare for the resumption of training
  • Applying health protection measures for those involved in training (learners, trainers)

WEBINAR :

“First Aid & COVID-19”

The Global First Aid Reference Centre organized webinars in 3 languages, Friday July 10, 2020, dedicated to first aid and Covid-19. Dr. Pascal Cassan, Director of GFARC and Diane Issard, Head of GFARC, provided important information on how to adapt first aid practices to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prepare the WFAD for September 12!

The crisis we are experiencing has had the effect of putting first aid trainers unable to train millions of volunteers on how to manage COVID-19, how to take care of them, their family and their community. It has also impacted the sharing of information on appropriate prevention measures, especially with the dissemination of false information. In this sense, our annual celebration of World First Aid Day is even more fundamental today in order to raise awareness on first aid, (either via digital or in a safe place) and to highlight the importance of continuing to mobilize learners, the general public and our rescuers on this theme that brings us together.

In addition, children are a prime target for raising awareness on COVID-19. Indeed, as they are affected by this period of confinement and essential vectors of protective measures, several tools have been developed to support them:
