Be prepared for flooding, and learn flood safety techniques.
To ensure your safety during floods, PIROI – French Red Cross offers theoretical and practical training to help you better understand the dangers associated with flooding. The course covers a number of complementary topics:
- A theoretical component devoted to providing scientific knowledge, notably on the specific meteorological features of Reunion Island, the particularities of its rivers, reading and interpreting water movements, etc.
- A practical component in which participants take part in a safe simulation on the Rivière des Marsouins to discover the mechanisms of aquatic flows and confront scenarios likely to be encountered in real-life situations.
Several one-day training sessions are scheduled for September 19, 21 and 22 in Saint-Benoît (Îlet Coco – Reunion Island).
This training course is organized with the support of the Prefecture of Reunion Island and Rando Aqua Réunion.
