Sponsorship is generosity without compensation that does not exclude indirect benefits, particularly in the form of media coverage. It may take three forms:

  • Financial support
  • In-kind donations (goods or equipment)
  • Skill-based sponsorship (provision of services)

Partnerships with businesses and public organisations – whether they be multinational, national or local – are based on the Red Cross seven fundamental principles, and on clear ethical criteria that focus on promoting accountability.
