RCSS regularly mans first aid booths at national events. First aid training courses for both individuals and professionals are also organised. Given the success of these courses, RCSS has decided to start ambulance officer, medical attendant, and lifeguard training.
- Disaster prevention and response
RCSS participated in Regional Disaster Response Team (RDRT) training, and has become more and more involved in this activity. Furthermore, the Red Cross Society of Seychelles is also committed to strengthening community awareness on the climate change effects and people’s resilience
- Information/dissemination of International Humanitarian Law
RCSS, with ICRC support, has developed an outreach programme of humanitarian law. The programme has been accepted by the national education system, and teachers are gradually becoming familiar with these new legal concepts. RCSS also communicates extensively via radio programmes and other publications about its activities, values, and the RC/RC Movement in general.
- Health and prevention
An HIV/AIDS public awareness-raising programme is underway. Hygiene promotion and community based health are also part of the Seychelles Red Cross activities .
