From 9 to 12 March, PIROI – in partnership with Comoros Red Crescent – organised training in project cycle management. The course was aimed at strengthening the project design[1], monitoring, and assessment skills of Red Crescent and Red Cross programme managers as well as those from external organisations such as UNDP, the Civil Protection Department, Ministry of Health or NGOs such as 2mains and MAEECHA[2].

Two PIROI instructors travelled to Moroni, capital of the Union of the Comoros, to teach 20 trainees about technical skills in project cycle management.

Participants learned to design project activities focusing on results-based management and to establish activity monitoring systems, as well as project reporting and assessments.

After 4 days of training, course attendees were able to apply the project cycle management approach in a professional disaster management context, and to implement various methods related to project cycles.
